This is what it’s all about

We get a lot of photos sent in to Eventing Nation and sometimes we get some that absolutely capture everything good about eventing.  Here are a couple from this weekend around Eventing Nation:

In the above photo, Mill Creek Pony Club members cheer on Makayla Hill and Frodo at the Mill Creek Horse Trials.  Makayla and Frodo were competing in the Beginner Novice Junior division.  Thanks to Kathy Wismer for sending in the photo.

This great photo was sent in by a proud mother with the following explanation:

“My 12 year old daughter, Riley, won first place in her JOBN Division at Plantation May HT this past Saturday. It was her first USEA recognized show and she was very proud of her horse DAKOTA  – a 15 year old Paint/Appy mix. Riley just started training with Casey McKissock in Pipersville, Pennsylvania and is looking forward to learning a lot from such a talented 3*** eventer as Casey.”

Last but not least, I want to give a quick shout out to a herculean organizing effort at Loch Moy on Saturday.  The Loch Moy unrecognized Horse trial on Saturday ran over 300 entries on  Saturday at five levels from Introductory through Training. They also had almost 60 additional riders doing individual jumping and dressage tests. I am told that the first dressage ride was at about 7:45 AM and the last horse on XC about 6:40 PM. This is a fabulous venue, always being improved, and one of the riders told me they did a fabulous job keeping everything running on time, the scores posted quickly, and all with smiles.

Congrats on a great weekend everyone and go eventing.
