Even though the trot up didn’t begin until 4:30, there were people starting to save their seats from 2:45 onwards, and by the time it began there was barely room to breathe.
This beautiful photo was taken by Nico Morgan, of Caroline Powell. Interestingly, her horse is called Boston Two Tip, and yet check out his left ear, it’s not bent over or trick photography, he’s missing the tip!
There were lots of quarter marks representing different nationalities.
Paul Tapner has a Kangaroo (yes, look carefully) for Australia, obviously!
Nicola WIlson sported the Tudor Rose for England
Ruth Edge had musical notes for Two Thyme
Stars for France
Shamrocks for Ireland
and Harps for Ireland too!
Emily King watching her mother Mary trot up
Didier Dhenin was held but passed on re-inspection
Steph and Port Authority both looked beautiful, and Ollie did an extended trot down the runway. Steph came out afterwards to watch and see what it was like because she said when she was out there she had tunnel vision and saw nothing but the lane.
Hawley’s husband Gamal (sorry for mis-spelling it yesterday) doing double duty with the camera AND the video, and he gives massages too. John, hire this man!
Rosie Thomas and Barry’s Best
Laura Collett won the prize for outfit most unsuitable for running in!
closely followed by Lauren Shannon!
Badminton Director and Course Designer Hugh Thomas
Lots more good stuff to upload so please keep checking. I am twice as lucky today as I was yesterday because I am sitting next to photographer Nico Morgan, who is being very patient and helpful as I bug him for hints, advice and all sorts of things
Everyone kept telling Nico Morgan what a big one he had!
and I have the best view in the house, or in the media tent anyway. Look who I’m sitting behind and get to gaze at chat to all day!
