Well, the race isn’t fully over yet, but we DO have our winners of the 2025 Mongol Derby! It’s a story you won’t want to miss, and the best way to recap the epic day that was yesterday is to read the Derby’s race report here. Long story short (they survived), but not before some collective sportsmanship took priority over personal glory. Many, many congratulations to our riders (including those yet to cross the finish line!), and yes, we are planning to have Michael Pollard, one of our co-winners, on The Go Eventing Podcast as soon as he’s able!

News & Reading
Today is the FINAL day to enter this year’s USEA American Eventing Championships, presented by Nutrena! This year, the AEC is heading west to California and beautiful Galway Downs. The team at Galway Downs (which includes EN’s Managing Editor, Sally Spickard, on social media!) knows how to party, and there’s a full line-up of parties, VIP tickets and more awaiting you. Travelers from far distances can also receive early arrival stabling at no or a reduced cost. Don’t wait, and learn more about this year’s AEC here.
Racing is returning to the iconic turf track at Fair Hill! Eventers may recognized the track as the route into the infield, where the Fair Hill Special Events Zone and the bulk of the MARS Maryland 5 Star is now hosted. Now, the turf will once more host racing. The races return on August 30, and you can read more updates about this and other news from Fair Hill here.
Horsemanship: it’s a topic we can all learn more about, as there is always something new to take home. On the latest edition of the USEA Podcast, Tik Maynard joins host Nicole Brown to talk about this very topic, something he knows quite well, and how we can integrate these concepts better in our own riding and training. Listen here or on your favorite podcast platform.
Speaking of podcasts, this morning is the launch of the 13th episode of The Go Eventing Podcast (we know, we know, how serendipitous that Taylor Swift also has something up her sleeve this week) and it’s a very special one! We welcomed both Tamie Smith and Alex Ahearn to the show to talk all about Mai Baum, who just retired last month at Rebecca Farm. You definitely won’t want to miss it — you can tune in here later this morning or on your favorite podcast platform.
