Will Coleman and Zipp
Will finished just six seconds over the optimum time, so his 4.3 point dressage is enough to keep him in first. Doug Payne was one of 9 CCI* double-clears to stay in second. Fiona Allen and Isengart are in 3rd going into the show jumping.
CCI* XC Scores:
1. Will Coleman and Zipp +2.4 43.8
2. Doug Payne and Camerlingo +0 45.7
3. Fiona Allen and Isengart +0 47.9
4. Jamie Lee French and Speak of the Devil +0 53.2
Here’s a quick video montage of CCI* rides, now in beautiful technicolor.
–The best ride I saw in the CCI* was US rider Caroline Martin through the coffin.
–There were a few falls out on course but the announcers immediately announced that both the horse and rider were up and ok for all of them.
–Both of the announcers here today are doing a great job tag teaming the cross-country announcing. One of hem, Geoff, is multilingual (some of our reader might remember our interview with him last year at Bromont) and he is announcing the rides in the language of the riders, including English, French, and Spanish.
–Your daily Canadian weather update: Bromont has a light cloud cover and a breeze on a cool day, but there’s no sign of rain yet.
One down, three divisions to go, as they say. The CCI2* is just about to get started. Go eventing.
