Jason Picton was hacking Cool Mountain, who looks fantastic. What’s a horse got to do though? WIth a Rolex win, and two WEG medals under his belt, why are people still slightly dismissive of Ollie? William, and EN John included – I remember getting rather hot under the collar last year when EN John wrote a rather scathing review of Ollie. With William it might just be the classic British understatement, although he was raving about Navigator, who also look bursting with rude health, and a credit to the Fox-Pitt Team.
Again, terrible photo, I do apologise, we need Nico on the case! Jason and William were letting the horses graze around the edges of the dressage warm-up arenas. Both horses were wearing plain snaffles, flash nosebands, and of course, neck straps!
Jason has been working for William for just over a year, and William told me that when Tamarillo retires, (officially on monday, before the show-jumping, expect tears all round) he will come to William’s yard and be Jason’s ride, joining Stunning who is now retired with head girl Jackie Potts.
