Apologies for missing the Plantation Field CIC** overnight leader but EN congratulations to Susan Beebee on Wolf. Buck Davidson is in 2nd place on D.A Adirmo, above.
Caitlin Silliman rode another good round, this time on her boss’ former four star horse Remington, adding nothing to her dressage to move up three places into 3rd place overnight. I bumped into Caitlin walking the course earlier in the day and she told me that she as much as loves having the ride on Remington, she now appreciates how easy Boyd made him look, but they looked good together too on the CIC** course saturday even with just the one prelim run around Maryland Horse Trials under their belt so far, so hopefully this bodes well for for a long and happy future together.
Lindsay Beer and El Paso, above and Will Coleman and Ole Boy, below, both moved up from tied 7th place to tie for 4th place overnight with clear rounds inside the time
After a less competitive dressage Will gave Zipp a steady clear round
Master Frisky added a handful of time with Boyd Martin to slip from 3rd to 7th place overnight
Boyd sits in 8th place on the late Colin Davidson’s Crackerjack
Justine Dutton and Abecca moved up 8 places with a fast clear round to 12th going into the show-jumping phase
Caroline Martin and Petite Flower
Dasha Ivandaeva and Autorytet
Allie Blyskal and Sparrow’s Nio
Sara Kozumplik and Flagmount’s Sterling Prince
Katie Wherley and Mr Indiscretion
Kylie Figueira and Danzig
and finally…we saved the best for last – do you recognise this style?! Poor Sinead was up in the commentary box and had to announce while her fiancee Tik galloped around the CIC** track on Sapphire, but luckily he made light work of it, perhaps he’s been studying a certain Burghley.tv round! The CIC** course was fair but tougher comparably, definitely in relation to the one star, and maybe even the three star track. I think the corner at the very furthest point of the course perhaps caused the most trouble but without fence analysis it’s impossible to know for sure, and I didn’t hear of any serious injuries. Most of the rides I saw looked to benefit from the trip and grow in confidence, and I’d say it was perfectly pitched as a prep for the major fall three days coming up soon. There’s an exciting day of show-jumping to look forward to on Sunday, with some jousting and bare-back puissance thrown in the mix as if that wasn’t enough to keep you on the edge of your seats! Thanks as always for being part of Eventing Nation, and Go Eventing!
