Congratulations to Sharon White and Severn Sky who added just one time penalty in the show-jumping Sunday morning to win the CIC* at Plantation Field.
Buck Davidson kept the pressure on Sharon by jumping a beautiful clear on Copper Beach which meant only two points separated them as Sharon entered the ring to jump. Both these horses are absolutely stunning animals and must be exciting prospects for their riders and owners, and the US, for the future.
Click below for much more CIC* action:
Ariel Grald finished on her dressage score of 45 on LBF Oleagh’s Image to come third
Skyeler Voss and Accolade moved up one place in the final phase with a clear round to finish fourth
Valerie Vizcarrondo and Fernhill Whatever rounded out the top six.
The course didn’t cause too many problems; Daryl Layfield-Insley was eliminated for taking the wrong route, and Elizabeth Rickfels was eliminated for two stops at the treble but apart from that it was mainly just the odd pole here and there. It is definitely much cooler this morning than it has been the last couple of days, and all the horses looked fresh and well today. The CIC** begins shortly so I’ll leave you with a few more pictures in no particular order.
Leslie Hicks and Mystic Contender
Looks like Lisa Marie Fergusson has a really nice young horse in Honour Me, her only problem on the track today was making him pay attention to the fences which were probably too small for him!
Lizzie Snow and Ringfort Tringaturk
Molly Rosin and Puttin’ On the Ritz
Boyd Martin and New Cadet – is it me or is Boyd channelling Andrew Nicholson? Boyd rode three horses in the CIC* and for me I probably liked his Australian TB Steady Eddie the best
but then I saw this picture I took of Party Boy! Party on Boyd!
Hopefully the wind will die down which will not only selfishly warm it up a tiny bit, but also perhaps help with the sound issues the event has been battling with. I hope to be able to bring you a CIC** report shortly – there are about thirty-five horses to jump, Susan Beebee leads with Wolf and so will go last, and Buck once again is in second place with D.A Adirmo. Thanks for reading, and Go Eventing!
