The Georgie Campbell Foundation has officially opened its first application window to support an aspiring professional event rider through its new beneficiary program, designed to honor the values and legacy of the late 5* rider Georgie Campbell.
Created by those who knew and loved Georgie best, the Foundation’s mission is to champion the sport of eventing that Georgie was so passionate about, while helping to create a more sustainable and safe future for both riders and horses. This new rider support program offers one early-stage eventing professional the opportunity to receive bespoke mentorship, financial guidance, safety training, and more, all tailored to their individual needs and ambitions.
Applications are now open through Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at midnight BST, and eligible riders are encouraged to apply.
Who Should Apply
The Foundation is seeking eventing athletes who:
- Are registered with British Eventing (BE)
- Are currently competing—or have previously competed—at the CCI3* level or higher
- Are in the early stages of running their eventing business
- Can demonstrate both a need for support and a clear ambition to progress in the sport
- Are aligned with Georgie’s values and committed to eventing long-term
Riders of all nationalities are welcome to apply, including those affiliated with any national team, but preference will be given to those who have not received substantial previous financial support or benefitted from programs such as Great Britain’s World Class Programme.
Applicants will be asked to submit a key information form and a response to application questions either in writing or via video—a nod to Georgie’s own experience with dyslexia. All submissions will be reviewed by a panel made up of industry professionals, members of Georgie’s family, and Foundation trustees.
The selected beneficiary will receive highly individualized support for an initial two-year period, with the potential for a third year based on progress and alignment with the Foundation’s mission. Support areas may include:
- Financial and business management
- HR and legal compliance
- Securing and managing sponsorships
- Young horse development
- Rider and staff safety training
- Branding and marketing strategies
Most of the mentorship will be delivered one-on-one and in person, supplemented with remote support when necessary.
This program is designed to be far more than a financial grant. It’s a comprehensive, personalized development plan to help passionate riders build a successful and sustainable future in the sport. The Foundation hopes to expand its reach to additional beneficiaries in the coming years.
Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to the values Georgie embodied: love for horses, determination, resilience, kindness, and a deep joy for the sport and its community.
