I have Badminton and England withdrawal, and if it wasn’t for Rolex starting tomorrow, I don’t think I could have got on that plane. The end of a three day, even if you’re not competing, is such an anti-climax, and there’s unpacking and laundry to be done, not to mention if you were riding, the inevitable post-mortem on performance, the woulda, coulda, shoulda.
The good news, I have some pictures and reports from the Ky Horse Park – it’s wet, and windy!- no, I have more, coming in the next post, but first I wanted to share the last of my Badminton photos from yesterday morning’s trot-up. (already seems like a week ago.)
Ireland’s Joseph Murphy with Electric Cruise
Also for Ireland, Aoife Clark, with Master Crusoe, shares a joke with TD Eric Winter
Breakout Badminton debutante superstar – Laura Collett
Most under-rated horse of the weekend? Would love to take France’s Minos de Petra home, ridden by Pascal Leroy
Sarah Stretton with Lazy Acres Skip On
Emily Llewellyn and Pardon Me II
France’s Karim Laghouag with Havenir D’Azac
Mark Todd isn’t the only one; Badminton legend Brian Higham
Cooler weather on monday morning meant Fiona Hobby could wear her stunning coat
Kai Ruder and Le Prince Des Bois
Sweden’s Victoria Carlerback and Ballys Geronimo
and before I go….
Harry Meade and William Fox Pitt.
Lots of wonderful memories, a fantastic event. Please check out Nico Morgan’s website as he continues to add brilliant pictures all the time. So far, this is one of my favourites. He also helped me out throughout the event, and I’m thrilled to have met him in person at last – even better in “real life”!
And so on to Rolex…can Toddy win the second leg of the Grand Slam, as Eventing Safety John seems positive he can? After this weekend I wouldn’t count it out – NZB Grass Valley did Badminton last year, then came to the Ky Horse Park for the WEG, and he has Todd on top…We’ll keep you posted with everything Rolex from now on, keep it tuned to Eventingnation.com and go Eventing!
