Updates to the Rolex Entry List

There have only been a couple changes to the entry list since the last time we posted an updated version.  Earlier this week, Polly Stockton’s Westwood Mariner and Karl Slezak’s Kachemak Bay withdrew from the entry list.  Today, 3 other horses were removed from the entry list, including Sally Cousins’ Tsunami, Jane Sleeper’s UN, and Frankie Thieriot’s Fric Frac Berence.

The only other changes have been the inevitable swaps and substitutions of the overseas riders’ horses, as many are known to cross enter both Badminton and Kentucky. Mark Todd originally had Major Milestone entered, but that entry was exchanged for Grass Valley. Buck was another to cross enter Ballynoecastle at both Rolex and Badminton, but as he opted for the latter, Titanium has made the journey to Kentucky to serve as a replacement. 

46 horses now make up this weekend’s field assembling from five countries; US, Canada, Great Britain, New Zealand, and Australia. Interestingly enough, the entry numbers for this year total lower than the 72 starters in 2010 and 68 in 2009. I leave my predictions for the final weekend’s outcome resting solely in the capable hands of Jimmy and his annual Chronicle predictions, but does anyone care to make their prediction? Regardless of who emerges at the top on Sunday, this weekend, like every other Rolex weekend, is certain to be a demonstration of some excellent riding. I know I’ll be watching the live feed on Saturday!
