The other heralded spring CCI4*, Badminton, is getting ready to go off in just a couple of weeks, and the draw has been posted this morning. Izzy Taylor will kick things off in the dressage with one of her three mounts, which she will need to narrow down to two by competition start. 124 horses were posted on the draw, but this list includes several horses still on the wait list. At the first horse inspection, 85 total entries will be on the list.
Buck Davidson is listed on the Badminton draw with Park Trader and Ballynoe Castle RM, however as we reported earlier this week, Buck has chosen to forgo Badminton in favor of Rolex for both of these horses.
Clark Montgomery and his first mount, Universe, will be the 21st horse the judges see on dressage day. Tiana Coudray, who chose to stay and compete at Badminton instead of Rolex, with Ringwood Magister drew number 68, and Clark and Loughan Glen round out the US contingent with number 122.
We reported earlier this week that Andrew Nicholson withdrew last year’s winner, Quimbo, from Rolex in favor of Badminton, and Mark Todd will withdraw Oloa from the Badminton list as he is here in Kentucky preparing for Rolex.
