Blenheim Jogs Report

The final jogs were held early this morning at Blenheim Palace, and both of our remaining North American riders made it through successfully. Unfortunately, there were quite a few withdrawals overnight, including 7th placed Lucy Wiegersma & Simon Porloe, as well as recent EN favorite Lucy Jackson & Kilcoltrim Ambassador. The field is now narrowed down to 58 competitors, and the show jumping is already underway, with the first few riders having jumped around the course this morning.

WFP is hoping to win (obviously) today, which will mark his 50th 3-day event win. He  is the only rider to have finished first and second in the Blenheim CCI3*, in 2000 on Stunning and Tamarillo.  Mark Todd is currently lying in second place, who more recently won the CIC at Blenheim on Land Vision in 2010.

In all the excitement yesterday, we pretty much forgot to mention the CIC*** that is simultaneously running at Blenheim, but they have XC today. Andrew Nicholson has already won on Quimbo, despite many more competitors still having to run the course.

We will have more news from the show jumping as it goes along. They are currently in lunch break, with the bareback high jump about to start. The next horse in starts at 10:30 EST, with Lucie McNichol & Zeus of Rushall.
