We all have our own well loved half pads (believe me, I have a few) But recently I broke down and got myself an Ogilvy memory foam half pad, and it truly has been life changing!

For those of you who know a thing or two about my horse Sasha, you probably know she’s crazy talented and crazy mareish. Every time I put a saddle on her, or tighten the girth she tries to bite me! My reasoning for ordering the Ogilvy was that they were

1)   Completely customizable, you can pick your cross country colours for the piping, binding, and even the main body of the pad!

2)   You can choose the size and thickness of your pad for a completely custom fit for your horse!

3)   It’s so simple to get a matching saddle pad!

4)   They’re super attractive

My opinion on my half pad when I got it was in the highest degree, Sasha is less girthy, doesn’t mind the saddle when she wears it, and in my opinion uses her back much better when she jumps! Just the other day I washed it for the first time, which is a lot simpler than washing your run of the mill sheepskin half pad! I just take out the removable memory foam pads and threw it in the washing machine with cold water, and then hung it out to dry! Good as new! They also are made of suede so you don’t even need keepers to keep it in place!

Not too long after getting my half pad, I became an Ogilvy addict, and broke down and bought the profile pad. I got the piping and binding to match my half pad and was surprised when I received it! The pads are lined with a microfiber suede so that they don’t slip at all! The bridge of the saddle pad has no padding in it to allow it to sit flat on your horse’s back and not bunch up like a normal saddle pad!
