Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro Set New Grand Prix Record

Charlotte Dujardin and her 11 year old Dutch Warmblood, Valegro, have grabbed equestrian headlines once again, setting a new record in the Grand Prix team test at the Blue Hors FEI European Dressage Championships with a 85.942%. Team GB went on to win bronze in the team competition. Familiar with record setting already, having set a new Olympic record in 2012 with a 83.784%, the stunning pair danced and floated their way around the rectangle in true style. I, for one, am simply utterly amazed that anyone can possibly memorize that many movements. Do they allow you to have a reader at European Championships?

Editor’s Note: Unfortunately, the European Dressage Championship video has been removed from Youtube by its user. Please enjoy this video of Charlotte and Valegro performing their gold medal winning freestyle at the 2012 London Olympics.
