Fashion Police: Equestrian Fashion?

This is totally what I wear when I go Foxhunting

There’s a disturbing new trend happening in the “real” fashion world right now, which is trickling down to places like your neighborhood CVS store. Being true blue horse girls, my friends and I frequent shopping malls, grocery stores, and even restaurants dressed in our day to day dirty riding clothes, and rarely do we get stopped and complimented on our fashion sense. However, recently I have heard tales of muggles (non horsey folk) accosting innocent eventers and asking fervently where they acquired such amazing boots!

“Wherever did you find those amazing knee boots?” one girl asked me the other day as I perused the avocados at Kroger. “Um, these?” I replied, “These are my barn boots. I ride. Horses? You know?” I was baffled because a) they were covered in mud and b) I was covered in mud. Clearly, I’m a fashionable sorority sister.

Today I spied some really great faux tall boots waiting in line in front of me, and snapped a pic.

Faux Tall Boots: spotted in CVS

Are you finding yourself surprisingly and unintentionally fashionable these days? Try wearing your actual tall boots, see what reactions you get! I’m tempted to wear my full top hat and tails dressage get-up out on the town and see what people make of it…. Or do you think I’m just getting delirious with Christmas fever?
