Friday News & Notes from FLAIR Nasal Strips

From EN reader Steve Joyce: "It is never too early to start them on farm chores. Nora Kate Joyce (15 months old) helps feed the broodmares at Cabin White Farm. Truth be told, she insisted on helping and having both buckets! Pretty good indicator she may be tough between the red and white."

Entries for the Rolex Kentucky CCI4* are still rolling in — so quickly that I couldn’t keep up with the additions yesterday in my update posts. Twelve entries were added to the official entry list on the Rolex website yesterday afternoon, bringing the current total number of entries to 54. The list shows a wonderful mix of seasoned, veteran four-star riders and younger, up-and-coming riders who will be contesting their first four-star. We’re excited to see new horses and riders taking the challenge and look forward to cheering them on in person in just a few weeks!

Equine Canada is speaking out against a new proposal that would allow only one country to qualify for the Olympics at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto. Under the current rules, two countries are allowed to qualify in eventing and dressage through the Pan Ams. The Americas contain more than 30 percent of all FEI-member countries in the world. The warmblood stallion is also displaying mild neurological signs. [Horsetalk]

SmartPak Product of the Day: After giving away a Sunshield Long Sleeve Shirt to EN reader Molly Bucci in the SmartPak Mystery Product contest last week, I’ve been browsing technical riding shirts that will help keep me cool on hot days this summer. I really like the look of the SmartPak Cool-Tech Show Shirt. It’s super affordable, looks sharp and has excellent customer reviews. [SmartPak]
