We are very sad to report tonight that Harrison, a 13-year-old Thoroughbred gelding owned and ridden by Amy Evans, was euthanized at Aspen Farms Horse Trials in Washington after fracturing his right foreleg on cross country.

Amy retired Harrison on the Preliminary cross country course at fence 11, and he was transported for further evaluation. The decision was made to humanely euthanize the gelding.

Amy and Harrison partnered together for the first time in 2015, picking up several top 10 placings at the Training level. This weekend was their second run at Prelim, having finished ninth in their debut at Equestrians Institute H.T.

“He was a very special horse,” Amy told EN. “I have absolutely felt the love of the eventing community, especially in Area VII, during this time of grief. My coaches, my Vossenberg and Caber Farm family, and the Aspen Farm crew have been incredibly supportive.”

Please join us in sending condolences to Amy and all who knew and loved Harrison.
