“It’s big — and it’s Burghley,” is the sentiment that most riders will tell you if you ask them how they feel about Capt. Mark Phillips’ cross country course tomorrow. It is a known fact that Burghley is one of (if not the) biggest tracks in the world, and the riders all have a healthy respect for the fences they will be tackling. It’s good, then, that our American friends have some serious motivational encouragement coming their way:

Or maybe I’ll take Ben Hobday’s approach…

In the meantime, the horses are busy resting up for a big day tomorrow. It’s probably a good thing that just one half of the partnership is tasked with losing sleep over the big tables and combinations on course.

And, even in the craziness that is a four-star event, there’s always time to share a Coke with your mate!

Cross country gets underway tomorrow morning, and don’t forget that each ride will be available on-demand on Burghley.tv – for free! Go USA, and go Burghley!
