The face just says it all! Thanks ESJ for the photo

America! I would say the US really stepped up in England. And what better day to lay down just how good we Americans are then on September 11. Tiana has really stepped up from a disappointing spring to give the US something to get real excited about. Clark and Will both had fantastic weekends. All three of these horses are serious horses for the future. Phillip should be equally as pleased with Mighty Nice. This horse also has a bright future ahead. Thank you to ESJ for all the excellent coverage.

The AECs have wrapped up in fine fashion. One day I swear I am going to make it to the AECs to see what its all about. Chattahoochee is one of the finest venues in the world and US eventing is lucky to have such a fantastic supporter in Carl Bouckaert. Thanks to John, those of us who weren’t there were able to take part in the action from the comfort of our homes.

– Ali thought I should write tonight about Family Scrabble. I am guessing this has something to do with her addiction to playing scrabble. Her family tries to get rid of her on a constant basis so I am thinking she forces them to hang out with her by playing family scrabble.

– As I write this, Sunday Night Football is going down. With the JETS playing in New York, it’s a special night for football. While the score isn’t looking great as of now, but it’s still a valid effort. Let’s hope for a turn around!

– After traveling to England, Silva is now back in action in PA. With her and her students preparing for Dressage at Devon, things are bound to be in full swing. Silva will be riding three horses including Faye Wolfe’s, Stately. Her youngest mount, a three year old, sure will be getting a good experience at Devon. Please continue to the blog to see Silva schooling one of her Devon rides. [Devon bound]

– Calvin Ramsay took the Junior Novice Championship division at the AEC. After almost not making the trip with his 23 year mount (due to hock injury) this has got to be a nice win. Ramsay, who is from Louisiana, takes three lessons a week with his father. During the summer, he travels to Karen and David O’Connors to gain a little extra experience. [Get to know Calvin Ramsay]

– Best of Blogs: And suddenly it was over

– In big news: Australia didn’t qualify as a team for London. New Zealand won the team competition. But it is Japan that stole the show. Finishing second in the team competition, they secured their spot for the Olympics. The Australians are surely hurting as this is a major blow to their program. [Go Japan]
– In case you missed it in the intro or on the results, Tiana Coudray finished second at Blenheim. Tiana felt like her round was “text book.” I am so thrilled for her as she was really due for a good weekend. Clark claims to not have had his smoothest round in the show jumping. But despite this, he was thrilled. Clark is such a beautiful rider and his results shouldn’t shock anyone. [USEF Blenheim]
– Steffen Peters will lead the American’s in the dressage competition at the Pan Ams. The team consists of Peters, Heather Blitz, Cesar Parra, and Maria Festerling. This is a top quality team for the US. All four horses are capable of winning a medal which gives them a good chance to win a team gold. [Dream team for dressage]

– Emily Beshear had a good weekend at the AECs. With student, Carrie Meehan winning the preliminary amateur division taking her second title in a row, Emily must feel good. Emily also had a great finish in the Advanced with a double clean XC that was sure to catch a few eyes. Here is a clip of her riding Moose in the novice where they finished 3rd. Moose is owned by the wonderful Chris and Michelle Adamson and is enjoying his first season eventing. [Brickland Eventing]

Hope the AEC hangover is slowly leaving for everyone. Stick around for some fun here on EN this week. Go Eventing.
