Sally Cousins’ Monday News and Notes from ECOGOLD

Now that is positive thinking. Photo via commentcherry.com

Happy Monday Eventing Nation! As we near closer to October, we get closer to the end of the season. But don’t you worry yet, there are still several more exciting competitions coming up! But I must warn you, as the weather gets cooler, EN’s Ali, gets less concerned about her smell and showers less. I advice you avoid her if you see her in public.

Also, after seeing the movie Contagion, I think everyone needs to create a plan for if the world should have an epidemic and the world goes crazy. Maybe the start of extreme couponing to save massive amounts of food? Also, if you have seen the movie, are you as afraid to touch things as much as I am?
Your weekend scores:

Otter Creek Farm Fall HT [Scores]

Stone Gate Farm HT [Scores]

Sally Cousins is at it again. This weekend, she finished in the top three places in the OI section at Middleburg. That isn’t just pure luck, that takes talent. I always say, Sally has one of the best eyes out there. Karen was out on Veronica after her fall at Plantation. She looks to have had a nice weekend and is hopefully feeling on track for Holland. Oh hey, Sally won the OP as well!
Down in GA, Becky obviously tore it up in the CIC***. But I also want to give a big shout out to Brittany Kart for winning the Advanced. Brittany works really hard and this win is well deserved. Clark is continuing his good season with a win in the CIC**.
Across the country, James Alliston and Jumbo’s Jake had one down to drop to second. This allowed Sandra Donnelly to slip in for the win. There was a lot of competition out on the west. Tamie Smith took another four year division win on Fleecework’s Cinco and Max McManamy took the five year old section.
Over in England, up and coming star, Georgie Spence, has been keeping busy with a lot of competing. Check out her journal to find up just how busy she has been. [Georgie Spence]

Have your animals been blessed for World Animal Day? Well if not, get on it. On October 2, St. Peter Church offers blessing for animals. Send in a picture of your pet to have him/her included. You can send your pictures via email. Easy. [World Animal Day]

I would like to give a huge CONGRATULATIONS to Lucia Strini and Joe Ruckert. Saturday evening they were married in what was said to be a beautiful ceremony and Plain Dealing Farm in Scottsville,VA. Despite her recent fall at Plantation Field, Lucia was able to make it down the aisle. And with the comfort of a Lazy Boy recliner, Lucia was able to sit back and relax while talking with friends. I am sure pictures will circulate soon. EN wishes the best to this newly married couple.

Denny Emerson puts nice photos on Facebook. Recently, Denny posted one and talked about how today’s poor horsemanship could be remedied. [Check it out]

This week, in the Dressage world, there is a pretty huge competition going on. That’s right folks, Dressage at Devon is here. This is a top notch competition where you will see a lot of high quality rides. Silva Martin will be Devon bound. And I am also proud to say my super duper, awesome roommate heads to Devon on Wednesday. For those in the area, you should stop by and watch. It will be well worth the time. [Dressage at Devon]
