Because they’re too good not to look at…
Every Monday seems to come too fast. Hopefully everyone had a great weekend and is ready for another great week. With Boekelo, the Pan Ams and Fair Hill coming up, there will be a lot of good coverage headed your way. I can truly say, I am sad John hasn’t demanded I go to Holland and cover Boekelo. Maybe next year…
It was a good weekend for eventing around the states. If you haven’t checked in lately, be sure to scroll through and check out all the Morven coverage from John and Jump Start coverage from Samantha.

In the great state of Texas, Greenwood HT took place this past weekend. This was one of my favorite events growing up. Talk about a fun crowd of people to hang out with and a nicely run event. In the Intermediate Championship division, Kadi Eykamp took the blue. This girl is really on a roll this spring. Siobhan O’Brien won the Prelim Championship. The awesome, Mike Huber took the blue in the Training Championship.
Head just a little further west and you get another fantastic event. The Colorado Horse Park Fall HT. In the CCI*, Angelika Beutel and Classic Touch took the win. In the OI, James Atkinson and Gustav took the blue just ahead of Julie Wolfert. The Training Horse division was won by a good friend of mine, Denise Daily-Thomas and Baker.
Big congratulations to the most embarrassing moment contest winners- Biz, Anon and Jess. ESJ will be in touch to arrange to send you a copy each of Stories from the Saddle. Thank you to everyone who participated in the competition.
An ice cream shop has had to remove their mascot due to some confusion. While the cone was simply meant to attract attention to the store, passersby though he might happen to be a member of the KKK. Yes folks, that’s right. I find this absolutely ridiculous. Take a look [here]
If anyone is looking for a good movie, I highly recommend 50/50. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will leave there feeling a little bit different than you did when you walked in. It definitely earned the 3 1/2 stars it was awarded.
D Niro had a big win in the Grand Prix Special at Devon. With rider Jacqueline Brooks aboard, D Niro settled nicely into his work to make the test look effortless. This pair has only been together a short time and only at this level since August. They will be heading to Florida with a burst of confidence. Now, all eyes are focused on the Olympics. [Devon]
Katie Murphy had a good Morven adventure. Lucky for her, she seems to have a good guy on her side. The kind of guy who doesn’t notice (or lies) when her urine/manure soaked pants are smelling up everything. Having good company makes it all that much nicer when you have a good show as well. After a successful weekend with the young horses, Katie should be going home one happy girl. [Murphy Eventing]
Team CEO had a good weekend at Jump Start HT [Brrrrr]
Because it’s been a while since I mentioned her…
Stay tuned. Coverage from Holland will be on the way over the next few days. This is assuming those who are there can get out of the beer tent long enough to update us! Go Eventing.
