No, your eyes don’t deceive you: that’s Michael Jung, Ze Terminator himself, in a marathon cart.
We unfortunately missed Michael in the eventing competition at CHIO Aachen this year, but he came to play with fischerDaily Impressed in the show jumping speed classes and Chocolat in the Jump & Drive.
Jump & Drive contests aren’t big here in the U.S. (why not??), but they’re not-to-be-missed classes at big European events. Though we often see riders trade in their horses for motorized vehicles in these classes, Aachen’s Jump & Drive keeps the horsepower in true equine form by replacing the car with a combined driving team. Add in an event rider and show jumper and you have the ultimate relay race.
Ingrid Klimke’s team was first out and held the lead until the very end, when Michael Jung’s team stormed in to clinch the win as the final team to go. Click here to view final results. Watch the exciting round below!
