Not everyone can say they did their first three-phase event with an Olympian running alongside them, but then again not everyone can say that their dad is Andrew Hoy. This past weekend, Andrew’s daughter Philippa competed in her very first event: a lead line 40cm class at Montelibretti Eventing in Lazio, Italy. Team Hoy has been camped at Montelibretti as they start their season by contesting the contesting the Prosecco Tour over the course of several weeks.
In perhaps a foreshadowing of the career like her father’s to come, Philippa won this first event and we presume that, like her father, she and her borrowed pony “Black” probably finished on their dressage score.
