For years I have idolized Pippa Funnell. Her autobiography rests nice and worn next to my bed. Her fierce dedication to the fine details are what make her one of the most successful eventers in the world and the only winner of the Rolex Grand Slam. It is so exciting to see her back at the top of the sport with several incredibly nice horses. Her win at Barbury was well deserved and I am sure there will be many more to come. For those of you who have not watched her DVD, “The Road To The Top,” I highly recommend it. You will not regret it.
It’s a nice week on the eventing scene and lucky for the chinchillas, John has safely landed back in the US.
Now for some news and notes…
Barbury, Eventing at its best. This article discussing the issue with the water at Barbury. Was it fair to those who had already fallen that it was removed? Personally, I feel the correct action was taken in removing the water. I do think decisions like these always put a lot of pressure on the officials because either way, people will be upset. The import thing is, no one was seriously hurt.
Who is that on Wall Street?? Oh yes, it’s Totilas!

Everyone here at Eventing Nation wants to extend our deepest sympathies to all who knew and loved Greystone’s Harley. Greystone’s Harley was owned by Normandy Farms and ridden by Kadi Eykamp. Unfortunately Greystone’s Harley suffered a pulmonary hemorrhage while galloping between fences at Chattahoochee Hills (preliminary). The loss of a horse is the worse that can happen. Please know that all who were involved with this wonderful horse are in our thoughts here at EN.
