I have a well-known obsession with jackets. Softshells, fleeces, windbreakers – you name it, I’ve got three. Perhaps it’s because I practically grew up in a barn, which required a lot of time outdoors.
Living in Missouri, the weather forecast is known for being all over the board, from 70 and sunny one day to below freezing with snow the next (and sometimes on the same day!). Because of this upbringing, I think I came to love the jacket for its layering ability and style factor.
Since I’ve collected so many jackets over time, it’s become difficult to distinguish which ones are designated for barn wear and which are not. Honestly, that line was blurred a long time ago and I have more or less given up on trying to keep them separated.
When the opportunity arose to give Bette & Court’s Devona jacket for a spin, I immediately jumped at the chance. More layering options are always good, right?
Based in Colorado, Bette & Court offers a great selection of athletic wear that’s both lightweight and breathable, all while catering to the fashion conscious individual.
Since it’s getting colder by the minute here, I make sure to layer up for the barn, which means I need a lighter layer to ride in since I tend to get pretty warm from the activity. The Devona jacket gives me a wonderful option.
The jacket fits nicely underneath a heavy coat or other jacket, and riding in it is comfortable, with the design allowing me to move freely. Air vents provide plenty of circulation, which you may think is a drawback for cold weather but for someone like me who enjoys keeping cool while I’m exercising it worked well.
The fit of the Devona jacket is also flattering, with princess seams that are very useful in hiding imperfections. The jacket is also rain/water resistant and has zippered front pockets to hold anything essential during your ride.
Once the weather warms up, I anticipate this jacket being a great fit for outside hacks or a chilly day when a heavy coat isn’t needed but a t-shirt isn’t quite enough.
Overall, I have been nothing short of impressed with the quality of the material and the fit of the Devona jacket. Definitely a must have for all of you jacket addicts out there!
Go Eventing, and Go Bette & Court!
