The Event at Rebecca Farm is well underway now and the first day of dressage has come to an end. The CCI* and CIC* took place today as well as the Training and Novice divisions. The weather looks to be good in Montana as we rest up for more dressage excitement tomorrow.
There are eight Novice divisions running this weekend with some very impressive scores. Tessa Robinson and Septer Sinn put up a very impressive 19.0 in Jr. Novice section B. This put her seven points in the lead. There were many great scores from the 19.0 to a 30.5. Such fantastic scores represent the high quality of riding. As we all know, Novice divisions are the hardest to win so it will be important for these riders to remain on their dressage score.
The training level is playing host to some great competitors and East Coaster, Sharon White, is looking good in Open Training C on Ravenna with a 30.9. Suzie Elliot leads division A with Rimsky on a 28.6.
The CIC* is being held down by Karen Laidley and Snow Globe Effect. She leads the division by 3.1 points ahead of Alexa Perkiel and Apres Ski. Jolie Wentworth is leading the CCI* on a 54.8 with Bally Quinn. Tamie Smith and Fleeceworks Fernhill are following with a 56.0. EN’s, Chelan is tied for 3rd on a 56.7. All one star competitors will have a nice day of hacking and possibly a jump school before XC begins on Saturday.
Tamra Smith is having another good day leading the conformation portion of the Future Young Event Horse 3-year old section. Mary Burke is leading the 2-year old section and Darcy Barnes leads the yearling section. Stay tuned for the final scores later.
Dressage for the CIC** starts at 8:00. The CCI** begins at 9:35 and the CIC*** at 1:30. Sharon White and Rafferty’s Rules will be leading us off in the CIC*** followed by many fantastic competitors. The Advanced and Intermediate both begin at 12:00 tomorrow with both preliminary sections starting at 8:30. Be sure to stay locked in for more coverage by Samantha and the rest of the EN team.
Until next time, go eventing.
