I’m from Tennessee and my momma’d wash my mouth out with soap if she heard me say it but good lord, roll tide roll. If you missed it (or, like my husband’s buddies, got bored and left the party halfway through the game), Alabama opened a good ‘ol-fashioned can of whoop-butt on Notre Dame last night to claim the BCS National Championship by a final score of 42 to 14. Good job, boys.

Mace and the selectors came under scrutiny this year, most notably after they left dressage rider Hayley Beresford off the Olympic team despite qualifying scores that were among the top three. Reed Kessler has a couple new Grand Prix rides. Kessler’s trainers, Katie and Henri Prudent, helped her find Soraya De L’Obstination from Belgium and Wolf S from Switzerland. Kessler intends to compete the horses at WEF this winter. [COTH]
