RRTP Thoroughbreds Prepare for Their Debut

Gunport continues to be the most popular Thoroughbred thus far in the 100-Day Challenge. Photo courtesy of the RRTP Facebook page.

The four Thoroughbreds made famous by the Retired Racehorse Training Project’s 100-Day Challenge are preparing for their 6-week performance judging at the Maryland Horse World Expo, which will be held Jan. 18-20 at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Md. Thousands of fans have followed the training journey of these Thoroughbreds on RRTP’s YouTube channel, and if you live near Maryland you’ll get the chance to see the stars of the show go in person. I’ll be on the ground covering the expo for EN, so if you can’t make it to Maryland you can still follow along on the blog. I posted a 30-day update on Alluring Punch, Suave Jazz, Declan’s Moon and Gunport last week before their 30-day videos were published, so here they are now for your viewing pleasure. All the horses — sans Declan’s Moon, who lost a week of training due to a stone bruise — are jumping small oxers and grids now. Gunport continues to be the most popular of the four by far. Her petite build, flashy movement and dainty personality have captured the hearts of many. Which of the four Thoroughbreds is your favorite?
