It’s been a wildly exciting couple of days at the $50,000 Grand-Prix Eventing Festival at Bruce’s Field, where we watched Doug Payne deliver a stonking sub-20 start with Starr Witness, hold his lead through showjumping — and then, ultimately, slip just one spot down to second with a classy cross-country round.
