EN is sad to confirm that Inoui Van Bost, an 8-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding owned and ridden by Skyler Decker, was euthanized after falling at fence 19, a trakehner on the CCI2* cross country course at the Jersey Fresh International Three-Day Event.

He was transported to New Jersey Equine Clinic in Millstone, New Jersey, where he was humanely euthanized.

Skyler and “Ouija” finished 19th in the CH-J* at the North American Junior & Young Rider Championships last year. They stepped up to the Intermediate level last fall and completed CIC2* events this spring at Carolina International and The Fork, where they finished 11th. Jersey Fresh was their first CCI2*.

Skyler posted the following tribute to Ouija on her Facebook page: “Ouija, you were a horse of a lifetime. You brought me places I only imagined in my dreams, and for that I’m forever grateful. Gallop on and jump all the cross country fences and eat all the hay cubes you desire. I’ll love you forever.”

The EN team sends our condolences to Skyler and all who knew and loved Ouija.
