Happy Thursday, Eventing Nation! I had a long long day yesterday, and although it was fruitful and both of my horses were brilliant, I’m completely knackered and planning on spending the day lazily cleaning my trailer, my tack, and possibly riding one or two horses on a hack. Tough times!

News from around the globe:

Have you listened to this week’s Eventing Radio Show yet? It’s a really good one, with Jess Montgomery co-hosting and telling us all how she and Clark are adjusting to life in the cold and wet environment of England. Also, my personal favorites Connor Husain and his wonderful trainer Skyeler Icke Voss join the show to kick off the new series featuring successful young riders and their mentors/coaches. Meg Kepferle also makes an appearance, explaining how her new venture, Howdaa is working. [Eventing Radio Show]

Starting this year the SmartPak Equine USEA Classic Series will be extended to include the Novice and Beginner Novice Three-Day levels! The Series will now encompass every classic format event in the U.S. from Preliminary to Beginner Novice. Didn’t get enough about the Under 25’s/Developing Rider Training Sessions? US Eventing proclaims the sessions to be a great success, and gives first person accounts of what went down with DOC. [USEF Developing Rider Sessions]

William Micklem writes a brilliant recap of Coach O’Connor’s visit to the UK, for the International Eventing Forum. If you’ve got a few minutes, it’s seriously worth a read, and it explains why the British are a big fan of our new coach. [Journey To The Top: Part I]
