NEWS (and notes):

Clayton Fredericks is taking time to redeem himself from the disappointment at the Olympics by leading the CIC1* at Haras du Pin Grand Complet after the dressage on Mr Sidney Rocks on a 39.1. Tomorrow the CIC2* begins, and the trot-up for the CIC3* is held in the morning. [French Eventing FTW]

Undefeated racehorse Frankel extended his record to 13 races yesterday by winning the Juddmonte International at York. Frankel is rated the best racehorse in the world, and also has a funny relationship with the number 13. His first race (and win) was on Friday the 13th, his biggest winning margin is 13 lengths, and now he has 13 consecutive wins to his name! He certainly doesn’t have triskaidekaphobia (fear of the number 13). [Frankel Wins Juddemonte International]

Just in case you haven’t had enough of Burghley yet…. here are some epic sneak peak pictures of the Cross Country course and the surroundings to whet your appetite. [Burghley Sneak Peak]

Did you get a video at Waredaca? Want to stalk your friends who did get videos? Check out VideoByPatrick, and watch a bunch of cross country rounds. [Videos from Waredaca]

Win a lesson with William Fox Pitt! No big deal, you only have to answer a few questions, and then buy a plane ticket across the pond…..[Free Lesson with WFP]

BE A UNICORN. Always, if possible, be a unicorn. [SmartPak Dresses Animals Like Unicorns]

Have you checked out Dapplebay yet? They have some seriously awesome eventing shirts, including “Live Free and Jump XC”, and “Just Gallop”, with cool colors and sweet designs. My fave. [Dapplebay Shop]

Irish Olympic Eventer Joseph Murphy has some seriously proud parents (no kidding)! They relate their experience in London, and tell about the highlight of the Games (shaking hands with Usain Bolt), and drinking in Irish pubs in London. Funnily enough, Joseph has two brothers who are riders and one sister who is the only one in the family not into horses. [Joseph Murphy’s Parents Are the Coolest]

I couldn’t resist this one….
