Liz Halliday-Sharp had a solid 2021 Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event. She finished 10th with her veteran partner Deniro Z, and completed with just one bobble cross country with her newest five-star mount Cooley Quicksilver.
Her Cambox video of the go-round is fascinating from the get-go, beginning with a last-minute gameplan check-in with U.S. Chef d’Equipe Erik Duvander just seconds before they head out of the startbox (thanking the starter volunteer as she does, because Liz is a class-act like that). She’s encouraging to her horse, a 10-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding (Womanizer x Kylemore Crystal) owned by The Monster Partnership, the whole way through: “You’ve got this, buddy,” she said as they neared the end of the course. “You’re almost there!”
“What a good boy, he got better as he went. I’ll tell you what, the horse had a lot in the tank,” Liz reflected after their round. “What was great though, honestly, is he really got better. He had that mistake, I didn’t get after him, and he did that last water like a champion, he was so good.”
This pair has a bright future and we look forward to following along!
