USEF managing director and chef d’equipe Eva Salomon has resigned in order to move back to her home country of Sweden to care for her nearly 90-year-old mother. She plans to continue helping the U.S. dressage program while based in Europe, although details have yet to be finalized. [COTH]

Hugo Simon’s champion showjumper ET, one of the first horses to be cloned, has been euthanized at the age of 25. The two-time World Cup winner’s clone, E.T. Cryozootech-Stallion, was born in 2006 and is genetically identical to ET. ET’s 28-year-old paddock mate Apricot D, whom Simon rode to team silver at the 1992 Olympics, was also euthanized. New Zealand showjumper Grant Wilson will be teaching a clinic in Aiken on February 6-7 at Southern Cross Farm. Wilson actively competes at the Grand Prix level in international competition and his clients include Belgium eventing Olympian Karin Donkers.
