An Apple for the Teacher: Make that, half chaps for the teacher. PROCHAPS, a Canadian manufacturer of high-performance riding chaps, announced its sponsorship of a new program designed to reward the instructors of the U.S.’s top junior event riders. PROCHAPS will award a free pair of chaps to the winning rider and his/her instructor of each Junior Rider Division of the National Leaderboard, and the instructor at the area level. [USEA]

Roberts Rule at Indoor Eventing Challenge: Ian and Waylon Roberts claimed the top two places in the Indoor Eventing challenge at Canada’s Royal Horse Show over the weekend. Waylon claimed top honors on his mount, Evil Munchkin, setting a blistering pace around the course. Waylon has won the overall title six out of the seven times the event has run. [Horse Talk]
Changing of the Guard: Markus Gribbe  resigned as Technical Leader for Dressage Canada’s High Performance Program, citing his desire to focus more on riding and developing his own training facility. The Canadian federation said Markus was “instrumental in Canada’s team silver placing at the 2011 Pan American Games,” which qualified Canada to send a team to the London Olympics. [Dressage-News]
