British young rider Pumbaa Goess-Saurau posted this on Twitter today and it made me giggle: Clearly, heinously early horse show mornings are a universal eventing truth. Pumbaa isn’t a snooze-button kind of girl–she piloted Killcoran Blue to a 12th place finish at the Pony European Championships last month; you can check out a video of them ripping around the cross-country course here.

Only one week after his sale to U.S. owners, Tabasco TSF and new rider Marilyn Little finished sixth in Germany’s Hambach CIC** on their dressage score. Tickets are available for the Thoroughbred Makeover and National Symposium, to be held at Baltimore’s Pimlico Racetrack Oct. 5-6. The event includes educational seminars, meetings, demonstrations, and the culmination of the Thoroughbred Makeover, in which 26 trainers from 15 states in 10 equestrian disciplines will demonstrate what their horses have learned in just three months of second career training.
