Tuesday Video from SpectraVet: Washington International Horse Show Costume Class

It’s the spookiest day of the year! Which means no, I cannot get enough of horses dressed in costume (as my own horse knows well enough). In honor of Halloween, let’s take a look at the popular $35,000 International Jumper Accumulator Costume Class, hosted at last week’s Washington International Horse Show.

This competition is filled with top pairs duking it out in full garb. This year, Dracula, aka Beat Mändli, was out for blood and ultimately took the win with Dibatsja. But there were many other celebrity appearances including the Mother of Dragons, My Little Pony’s Rainbow Dash + Pinky Pie, and my personal favorite, The Hamburglar. Watch above for Dracua’s winning performance as well as an overview of the costumes. Let us know your favorites in the comments.

Jumper Nation’s Lorraine Jackson was on the ground throughout #WIHS, and you can check out her photo gallery: “Every Rider, Every Angle from WIHS Costume Jumper Class, Presented by Draper Therapies” here, and and follow all of her Washington International Hors Show coverage here.
