I didn’t know what to expect from my UltrOZ Therapeutic Ultrasound System – sold by Hamilton BioVet – free trial and I am delighted to say it has been a positive experience for far. One of my biggest frustrations with treating Nicky’s injury has been that I cannot get the inflammation around the fracture to go down. Since day one, I have iced and cold hosed excessively with little to no change.
After using the UltrOZ Therapeutic Ultrasound System – sold by Hamilton BioVet – for two weeks, there has been a distinct decrease in the inflammation. It has gone down tremendously. No amount of ice has been able to produce a change like this! His leg is starting to return to its normal shape!
Please excuse my horrible clipping job (the clippers and I were having disagreements), and I didn’t have time to get Nicky’s wookie legs clipped for the first few days but here are my results so far. A picture doesn’t do the change justice and I have had multiple people at my barn mention how great his pastern is looking.

Additionally, Nicky is sound to ride but has been very uncomfortable on the left lead canter. Obviously his fractured pastern is causing him some discomfort. His reaction has been to do a beautiful flying lead change to the counter canter after a few strides.
I’ve stopped cantering him on the left lead completely but since I started treating him with the ultrasound system, I decided to try the left lead and see what happened. No swaps! His pain has obviously decreased since the beginning of the ultrasound treatment.

I am incredibly impressed with the system so far and Hamilton BioVet in general. Their staff has been so supportive, whether it be to contact me about whether I have questions on use of the system or just to see how Nicky is responding. The UltrOZ system has far exceeded my expectations in ease of use, how comfortable my horse is wearing it, how it has helped with pain management and obviously this massive improvement in the inflammation (or now the lack of!). We’re on the road to recovery!
