Video Break: Black Caviar Wins 24th Consecutive Race

Superstar flat racing mare from Australia, Black Caviar, has now won 24 consecutive races, as well as 14 Grade 1 races in a row, to remain unbeaten in her two-year career. If you watch any of her races, it all seems very effortless, and she very much reminds me of the ill-fated filly Ruffian from 1975. This filly doesn’t even seem to try; she’s like the Usain Bolt of the Thoroughbred world.

Check out Black Caviar’s race record; it’s basically perfection: 24 starts for 24 wins, 23 group and listed races for 23 wins, 14 Grade 1 wins, total margin of 76.5 lengths with prize money of $7,348,936. Today, we bring you her most recent win in the William Reid Stakes.
