Christina Kearse, president of the Clemson University Intercollegiate Eventing Team, sent in this fun video of the team competing at the College Team Challenge at Chattahoohee Hills in Fairburn, Ga., last weekend; Clemson finished fourth. We’re big supporters of collegiate eventing here on EN, and we’re sending a big congrats to the Tigers for their great showing at the College Team Challenge.
From Christina:
Last weekend our team sent four riders to compete at the College Team Challenge at Chattahoohee Hills in Fairburn, GA where we finished fourth. Our team is in its 10th year, and I am thrilled by the recent increase in collegiate eventing teams across the country. It was great meeting members of the other teams this past weekend, and I look forward to seeing more of you at future collegiate challenges. I would like to thank the UGA Eventing Team, Carl Bouckaert, and everyone at Chattahoochee Hills for hosting a successful collegiate team challenge and for supporting collegiate eventing.
If anyone is interested in learning more about the future of collegiate eventing, there will be a forum/discussion panel at the USEA Annual Meeting and Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. I, along with Leigh Casaceli, will be attending this meeting to represent our Clemson team, and we would love for other college teams to be present as well. Go Tigers!
