I am not a frequent gossip rag reader; however, I do find the column in US Weekly about stars being “just like us” quite amusing. The magazine publishes photos of Angelina Jolie and Leonardo DiCaprio grabbing a quick cup of joe at Starbucks or running down the Santa Monica pier with iPod headphones in their ears, all emblazoned with captions like, “They drink Starbucks, too!” or “They run just like us!” It’s really quite humorous.
I take celebrities who have an affinity for horses more seriously, though, and as a huge Big Bang Theory fan, I felt the inclination to share this story. Kaley Cuoco, who is most well-known for her role as Penny, the lovable blonde on the comedy, is also an equestrian. E! Online broke the story after Kaley tweeted a photo of her participating in a jumper competition with her horse, Thor.
I did some digging and came up with some more photographic evidence of Kaley’s riding habit. It turns out that she suffered a scary fall a couple of years ago, breaking her ankle and nearly losing use of it. She took some time off out of the saddle but has recently gotten her feet back in the stirrups and looks to be doing quite well!
A big thumbs up to Kaley for overcoming any fear or anxiety that may have been left over from her accident. She captioned the photo she took on Twitter “Pure joy.” We couldn’t agree more, Kaley!
