Each year at Rolex, there are more than just the horses competing out on the cross country course. Other horses and their riders stand at attention and survey the course, on call to step in and help if needed. Spectators ask them questions about their horses, and their formal attire adds a traditional and classy element to a day already ripe with history.
We’re talking about the Outriders at Rolex — volunteers who bring their horses to help out on cross country day should a horse get loose. Horses and riders from every walk of life are on hand tot take in the sights, all decked out in their Sunday best, and they’re a part of cross country day we look forward to each year.
