As we reported yesterday, Copper Meadows hosted FEI divisions for the first time this weekend, and both the Western Underground CIC2* and the State Farm CIC* were rousing successes. In the CIC2*, Cori Davis was able to move from third to first with the only double clear cross country round of the division. I mentioned yesterday that this pair was primed to take their best finish to date at this level, and they certainly stepped up to the plate today to pull out the win.

Overnight leader Autumn Schweiss and Oakport Strauss had a sizable lead going into cross country but incurred 14.4 time penalties to move into second place overall. This is Oakport Strauss’ second CIC2* completion; the pair also placed second at Poplar in March.

Tamie Smith and Twizted Syster complete the top three after just a few time penalties. I would imagine Tamie is pleased with the result from this mare this weekend; this is definitely one to keep our eyes on for the future.

In the State Farm CIC*, Whitney Tucker and Chavez Ravine came out on top with one of four double clear trips across country after overnight leaders Tamie Smith and Rita’s Bright Spark picked up 20 on cross country. This is Whitney and Chavez Ravine’s CIC* debut, and they are no doubt over the moon with how the weekend turned out.

Kaylawna Smith and London Calling OHF moved up from fourth overnight to second over with a clear run today, and Frederic Bouland and King Louis retained their third place position to take home the yellow ribbon. Rolex Horse Husband Earl McFall also pulled out a top four finish with Tim Terrific, who also turned in a double clear run today.
