You know, Maggie gets to be the first one to talk about the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event each year with her Wednesday N&N, but I get the honor of talking about the first day of actual competition! Also, I get Thanksgiving every year, which is basically the trump card, TBH. But back to Kentucky! I’m not there but I’ll be following along on my rides tomorrow while doing super safe TV watching and trot sets. Hope my horses don’t spook.

News From Around the Globe:

Devon Horse Show has announced the return of the $50,000 Arena Eventing this May. In order to be qualified, horses and riders must have attained a qualifying score at CCI2* level, or be competing in 1.4m jumper classes. Last year it was Sara Kozumplik Murphy, but the competition was fierce and wild, so get ready for some action next month! [Devon Brings Back Arena Eventing]

Elisa Wallace and Colleen Rutledge made a special visit to the UK Children’s Hospital this Tuesday, spending time with kids undergoing treatment there, and talking to them about the upcoming competition. This fantastic tradition is a longstanding habit of event riders when they come to Kentucky 4*, and shows the heart that exists in not just horses, but riders in our sport. [Kentucky 3 Day]

The Carolina Horse Park Foundation has announced a new unrecognized competition series to come this year.  The Devoucoux TallBoots Hunter Jumper Schooling Series and Derby Cross presented by Breezeway Sporthorse and Diagnostic is a new lineup of local competitions dedicated to helping riders to sharpen the fundamental skills required for success in the show ring. They offer prize money too! [Carolina Hunter Jumper Series]

Get ready to get down at the 6th Annual EN Tailgate Party! The festivities take place during LRK3DE cross country in tailgating spaces S294 and S295, near the jog strip and announcer’s tower overlooking the infield. Stop by to get EN temporary-tatted up, schmooze with a certain celebrity Chinch, quench your thirst, enjoy a snack, and win some sweet swag. Keep an eye on EN for more info and hope to see you there!

It’s #LRK3DE photo contest time. If you’re at Kentucky, don’t forget to enter — here’s the 411:
