I know, I know, it’s Tuesday, which isn’t my usual day, and you’re worried that the chinchillas got all mixed up over the weekend and drank too many Irish car bombs and messed up the days of the week! Fear not, dear readers, I’m simply filling in for Wylie, who is the first victim of the winter flu here at EN headquarters. However, speaking of chinchillas, I did send them her way with some chicken noodle soup, and I’m just hoping they didn’t eat all of it and/or get horribly lost in the night.

Three lucky little girls and their parents have been chosen to take their Friesians and participate in the filming of the next Hunger Games movie. The Paagman family is from Toby Benches in Canada, and they are well known for their beautiful homebred Freisian horses. Nine of their horses will feature in the second film, Catching Fire. “We are really proud that citizens and horses from the valley are participating in the biggest movie of 2013,” said Gerard Paagman, the father of the family. “When the phone rang, we asked the kids what the Hunger Games are? They started jumping and screaming.” [Canadian Family to Feature in Hunger Games]
British Paralympians, including riders Natasha Baker and Debbie Criddle, are hoping for a Christmas pop hit for 2012 with their version of Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors”. The athletes joined the British Paraorchestra and The Kaos Signing Choir for Deaf & Hearing Children for the single. The British Paraorchestra is the world’s first ensemble of professional disabled musicians and performed at the closing ceremony of the 2012 Paralympic Games. Proceeds from sales of True Colors will go towards supporting the Paralympics GB team at the Sochi 2014 Winter Games, and to fund the The Kaos Signing Choir for Deaf & Hearing Children and The British Paraorchestra.
