It’s shaping up to be a hot week in Germany, and the competition is already underway across other disciplines. Today, the eventing kicked off with the first horse inspection, and Jess Montgomery has reported that all horses successfully passed the inspection. “All the horses sailed through, with no holds that I know of,” Jess said.
Dressage times have been posted, and it’s sure to be a weekend full of stiff competition. The USA’s Clark Montgomery will ride Loughan Glen at 11:12 am local time (5:12 am EST). You can peruse the full list of ride times on Aachen’s website.
Germany’s riders will be out to impress this weekend, as this will be the final run before Germany names its World Equestrian Games squad. Heavy hitters such as Michael Jung and Ingrid Klimke are well-mounted this weekend, so it will definitely come down to the finish for these WEG hopefuls.
If you haven’t checked out the cross country course preview, be sure to refresh your memory here before Saturday’s competition. Riders will contest dressage and show jumping tomorrow.
