Australia has tapped a team of up and coming horses and a mix of veteran experience and fresh faces to its FEI Eventing Nations Cup team for Military Boekelo CCIO4*-L (Enschede, Netherlands). The event will take place October 9-12.
The team is named as follows:
- Ema Klugman and Chiraz (owned by The Chiraz Syndicate and Ema)
- Kevin McNab and Faro Imp (owned by Sofia Von Moltke and Emma McNab)
- Isabel English and Cil Dara Bombay S (owned by Sara English, Sofia Von Moltke, Jenny and John Curtis)
- Olivia Barton and APH Sodoku (owned by Carlene Barton)
This represents a first team appearance for U.S.-based Australian Ema Klugman, who will travel over with her own and the Chiraz Syndicate’s Chiraz, a 12-year-old Holsteiner gelding ridden to the 3* level by Boyd Martin before Ema acquired the ride. This spring, Ema and Chiraz finished in the top 10 at the Cosequin Lexington CCI4*-S.
Joining Ema are Olympic rider Kevin McNab and the 9-year-old Faro Imp, owned by Sofia Von Moltke and Emma McNab. Faro Imp is a 4*-L podium finisher, coming second at Strzegom last spring. Isabel English will bring forward the 8-year-old Cil Dara Bombay S, owned by Sara English, Sofia Von Moltke, Jenny and John Curtis, who finished fifth in the Young Horse World Championships in France as a 6-year-old. Olivia Barton, who relocated to Europe from Australia within the last couple of years, will compete with APH Sodoku, a 9-year-old warmblood gelding owned by Carlene Barton. All three of these riders recently contributed to a team bronze at the FEI Eventing Nations Cup leg at Arville (Belgium).
