As the dry season gets underway, thousands have been affected by wildfires in Southern California, which has prompted the evacuation of many homes and the declaration of a state of emergency by Gov. Jerry Brown.
Among those displaced by evacuation orders are our equine partners. Many horses, including dressage riders’ Steffan and Shannon Peters, have been forced to relocate in order to put some distance in between themselves and the impending smoke and fire.
Many people have already offered to help trailer horses or provide temporary stabling as more people are put under evacuation orders.
You can keep up with updates on the fire on the following websites. Also, if you are in need of assistance or in a position to provide help, please comment below or email us at [email protected] so that we can add to this post.
