As long as summer always seems to last, it’s basically well into the fall season now, and the end of the competition year always sneaks up on me. It should come as no surprise then, to see that these three men above are down at Elinor Klapp Phipps Park setting up the cross country for 2016 Red Hills Horse Trials. Thinking ahead! Tyson Rementer is the course builder again, and Mike E-S was just in town mentoring our very own chef d’equipe on his design of the 1* and 2* course, and checking on the progress of his own 3* course. Exciting stuff!

News From Around the Globe:
Classic Moet has been awarded the British Horse Foundation’s breeders’ prize for being the highest placed British bred horse at the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials. Ridden by the gutsy Jonelle Price, the 12-year-old black mare is owned by Trisha Rickards and bred by Elaine Hepworth. She placed fifth in her Burghley debut just a few weeks ago. In 2014, she was 12th at her 4* debut in Luhmuhlen, and was 4th at the WEG that summer with the fastest XC round of the day. She now has 817 British Eventing points, and was one of only two horses to make time at Burghley. [Classic Moet Kicks Butt]
CANTER Mid-Atlantic has announced a very exciting partnership with the Old Glory Legacy Foundation, pairing some of the overlooked thoroughbreds from their program with military service members and their families to build strong relationships and positive lasting memories together. While the OTTB market is doing incredibly well, the problem now lies in the old, injured, or plain thoroughbreds, who are difficult to adopt out. CANTER MA is introducing the Warriors Claim, which is the last claim a racehorse will ever see. If you love a thoroughbred or a member of the military, it’s worth reading about this exciting new endeavor. [CANTER MA Announcement]

Massage mitt for personalized and multi-use mini massage? Yep! I totally ordered one of these for my spoiled ponies, and while Nyls thinks that it’s possessed, my other horses love it! I decided to get the Equilibrium Massage Mitt over an entire massage blanket for several reasons. One, it is much more affordable at $142.95. Two, it enables me to focus on muscles that I know are problematic for each horse, and I can massage the neck and the poll too. Three….well….I can use it on myself, let’s be real, that’s awesome too.
