What a bittersweet photo this is! All of these portables once dotted the grounds of Groton House Farm which, to the grief of the entire Area, announced earlier this year that they would no longer hold a recognized horse trial. While these fences now leave the hallowed grounds of Hamilton, Massachusetts they’ll be put to good use at another historic Area I venue, Huntington Farm of South Strafford, Vermont which is currently experiencing a reawakening of sorts under its young new owner, who aims to continue the farm’s legacy.
